Hello hello and chatter chatter everyone!
You’re all now cordially invited to the Fourth Annual Oscine Awards!
It’s been a hot minute since we’ve been away, and OH birdies and hoomans and all you delicious fishies… a LOT has gone on in between! We really wanted to get our picks for 2021 out before the Academy Awards like we’d originally planned way back when, but there was a lot of catching up to do. And we won’t do a job unless we know we can do it right.
We tried really, really hard to catch up with all the films we missed last year. I was away in the land of the ancient Magpies, Spotty was off dealing with some personal things, and the Cap’n was off doing his bigEPIC work (still a secret!). But it didn’t mean we weren’t going to catch up eventually! It’s just that the last few years have been an odd bunch when it comes to films and the like.
We scrounged up barely enough to make the last awards and managed to totally peev off the Cap’n along the way (more on that later!), but we’re NOT doing that this year.
We have our nominees! We have our menus (kinda!)! We have our entertainment! And we’re finally deciding on things as a three-bird team again!
But we still need to agree on who wins what. We know who some of our winners are, but we don’t know all of them yet. We’ll let the Academy Awards play out, but we know we’re going to disagree with them and have our own picks. And we’re going to roll them out when we know for sure what we think merits what.
We want to make things right. We’ve tried to come back in between. We wanted to write a few posts about certain world situations and other things, but we didn’t think it was right at the time in each case. We have a whole buncha reviews drafted but not finished because of so many reasons.
So we’re taking it slow. Slow as we can.
We’re going to change up our format for the Oscine Awards again this year, and it’s not all going into the one post. So sit back and relax, because we’re coming back for sure this time. (Oh and dress up a little because the Oscine Awards are the biggest, bestest entertainment awards evar!)
