Hello, hello! Sorry we’ve been away so long!

Here’s what’s kept us away all this while:

• I’ve been out of commission because of life-related things.
• The Crow’s been busy with work and with our rewrite requests. Those things are taking way longer than we thought.
• The Brown-Necked Raven is currently moving to a new city.

While we’ve not been active, we have a few posts more-or-less good to go for this month. We’ll get around to them as soon as we can.

But let’s get to things one by one, shall we?

CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS #1 UPDATE!

First things first:

We’ve got a very special announcement coming up regarding our Call for Submissions! It’s taken a little longer than we expected, but we have our first two acceptances locked-in!

Thank you to those who’ve responded to the requests so far! We’re trying to reply everyone as quickly as we can!

Note: We didn’t end up going through the stories in the order they were received. If you submitted early and are wondering why we haven’t sent you a rewrite request, please don’t think that we’ve just passed on your entry.

We’ll wait until we’ve confirmed the third acceptance (might be a few days) before officially announcing our selections. The authors who we’ve accepted so far have been notified. Wheels are in motion for the publication of their stories.

We hope to lock the third acceptance by Monday, so we should be making an announcement soon. I wrote a post last night teasing the stories, but I’ll hold that off for right now. Please give us a little more time.

WHAT’S COMING UP

So, we haven’t posted in some time…

The Crow has left me with some posts that I could publish, but since I’ve been away, I haven’t been able to “polish them up”. I might drop one in by the end of the month.

The Brown-Necked Raven has written up a post (which I’m also going to have to “polish”), and it should be up by the next 24 — 48 hours.

I’m abandoning Wonder Woman and Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales for the moment. I’ve missed the mark for both of them, after all. I’ll instead lump them into a multi-review next month-or-so.

In the meantime, I have a jokey/cringey horror film review that I’ll try to push out as soon as I can. Expect some vicious classic-Magpie butchering in that one. I’ll swear, I’ll make jokes expected from 13-year-olds — you know the drill.

I’ll also try to publish a post the Crow has given me material for, but which is only half-finished, so far. It’s something new and exciting we’ve been looking at.
